Job Description
As a Software Engineer at IBM’s India Systems Development Lab (ISDL), you will contribute across all product development phases—from design and development to testing and support—focusing on core systems technologies such as Operating Systems, Firmware, Systems Software, Storage Software, and Cloud Software. ISDL is a leading hub in IBM’s Infrastructure division, with a history rooted in innovation and collaboration across multiple geographies. 0
Key Responsibilities
- Develop IBM Systems products in collaboration with product management and engineering teams.
- Analyze product requirements, design solutions, implement code, and conduct testing throughout the product lifecycle.
- Provide validation and support for systems software, ensuring performance and reliability.
- Contribute to a culture of innovation, fostering global collaboration and high-impact outcomes. 1
Skills Required
- Experience in software development across infrastructure components.
- Familiarity with Agile, Design Thinking, and DevOps methodologies—core to ISDL culture. 2
Technical Expertise
- Operating Systems, OpenStack, Kubernetes, Containers, Cloud, Virtualization, Security, REST APIs, DevOps/CI, Microservices. 3
- Programming languages: C, C++, Go, Python, Ansible, Shell scripting. 4
- Comfortable working with GitHub and open source tools. 5
