About the Role:
As a Power System Engineer Intern, you will work on modeling, simulation, and analysis of power systems with a focus on Distributed Energy Resources (DER).
- Work on power system modeling and simulations.
- Analyze DER integration scenarios.
- Collaborate with engineering and data teams.
- Contribute to real-world grid planning projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in power flow and network analysis.
- Develop power system models using tools like PyPSA and pandapower.
- Analyze DER integration (solar, EVs, storage, etc.).
- Perform load flow, voltage, and congestion analysis.
- Conduct time-series simulations.
- Work with grid datasets and network models.
- Document methodologies and analysis results.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Skills Required:
- Strong fundamentals in power system analysis.
- Knowledge of load flow concepts.
- Understanding of DER concepts.
- Working knowledge of Python.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with PyPSA or pandapower.
- Knowledge of time-series simulations.
- Understanding of optimization concepts (OPF, unit commitment).
- Experience with renewable energy datasets.
- Exposure to grid modernization concepts.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Pursuing or completed Master’s in Power Systems, Energy Systems, or related field.
- 0–1 year experience (Freshers eligible).
